Is a C a passing grade at GVSU? ›

A grade of "C-" or below with the Credit/No Credit results in NO credits for that course. A grade of "C- or D" though not ideal is still a passing grade AND keeps credits.

Your transcripts must be official and come directly from the colleges you previously attended. Transcripts may be sent electronically to adm-transcripts@gvsu.edu.

In order to receive a Passed, you must achieve a grade of C or better. Work done at the level of C- or below will be given a Not Passed and you will earn no units toward graduation.

Faculty usually can determine what a 60 grade is. Usually it is a D-, but not all schools have plus/minus grades. Schools may only count as passing a C- or a C as passing.

Passing Grade -The grades O, A, B, C, D, E are passing grades. A candidate acquiring any one of these grades in a course shall be declared as pass. And student shall earn the credits for a course only if the student gets passing grade in that course. F Grade -The grade F shall be treated as a failure grade.

In the current grading system, a score of 9, 8 and 7 are equivalent to an A* and A. A 9 is for a student who has performed exceptionally well. A grade of 4 is the equivalent of a C grade, known as a standard pass. A grade of 5 is also a C grade but is known as a strong pass.
